Going Out at Kent Uni
For University of Kent students, there are a number of bars to drink in at the Canterbury campus. Each college has its own bar: Rutherford College has Rutherford Bar, Darwin College has Origins, Eliot College has Mungo’s and Keynes College has K-Bar.
In Parkwood, students can drink in Woodys and the Pavilion; and at the heart of the campus is The Gulbenkian (theatre, cinema and bar) plus The Venue and The Attic nightclub (1500 capacity.) Read more in Hit the campus.
Off campus, University of Kent students can choose from over 30 pubs and bars alone within the city walls. There are two nightclubs – Chill and Club Chemistry – plus even more bars dotted outside the city centre in areas like St Dunstan’s and Wincheap.
The music scene is not as diverse as other university towns, such as Brighton or Leeds, and typically offers a mix of DJs, cheese and fancy dress themed nights with few specialist genres and big name acts. Students will find a smattering of dance and indie inspired events, plus some live music – but you’ll have to seek it out! Read more in Hit the town.
